Julie Wright
Advisory Board Member
Julie Wright is President of San Diego Regional Economic
Development Corporation. She also served as California’s
first Secretary of Trade and Commerce for Governor Pete Wilson,
where she enacted wide-ranging business reforms, worked on
expanding the State’s International presence, and helped
pull the state out of its deepest recession.
Julie was responsible for an aggressive approach to economic
development, promotion of business expansion, and new pro-business
attitude in California. Her career focus has always been
on public affairs and marketing.
She presently serves on the San Diego Convention & Visitors
Bureau Board and San Diego Chamber of Commerce, as well as
various other Boards and Committees.
Julie graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA
in Criminology and has completed the Stanford University Advanced
Management College and Financial Seminar.
She resides in San Diego.
