Eddie Adkins is Grant Thornton’s compensation and benefits technical practice leader. In this role, he tracks new legislation and guidance, and advises Grant Thornton’s offices and clients with respect to tax issues that impact compensation and employee benefits. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Mr. Adkins was a partner at a Big Four accounting firm for 12 years. His background also includes serving as the Chief Operating Officer of a regional pension consulting firm, teaching at the college level, serving as controller for a privately-held company, and operating his own CPA firm. Mr. Adkins holds a Master of Accountancy degree from Virginia Tech. He has been an active member of the AICPA, including his current role as Vice-Chair of the Employee Benefits Technical Resource Panel, and chair of the National Employee Benefits Conference.
